To provide a cap nut holder capable of easily comfirming attachment state of rubber packing in a union joint for gas piping or executing cleaning work of an opening.
In the cap nut holder 1, with respect to the union joint 18 for gas piping equipped with the opening 14 on a piping end arranged so as to be downward opened, a cap nut 15 externally fitted, and a flange part 16 to which the cap nut 15 can be fitted on the end side, a tool base 2 is provided which is equipped with a placing part 5 capable of placing a lower end part 15a of the cap nut on an upper surface part in order to hold the cap nut 15 above the flange part 16, and a fitting part 4 capable of being fitted to the flange part 16 on a lower surface part, wherein a width dimension T between the upper surface part and the lower surface part is smaller than a space S in a vertical direction between the lower end part 15a of the cap nut and the flange part 16 in such a state that the cap nut 15 is raised to the uppermost so that the tool base 2 can be interposed between the lower end part 15a of the cap nut and the flange part 16.
