To allow spaces before and after a vane to be communicated with each other through a cut concave part by causing the cut concave part to be projected from the vane when a cap is projected from the vane, and not to allow the spaces before and after the vane 4 to be communicated with each other by forming the cut concave part in the position where it is not projected depending on the specification of the vane pump.
The cap 5 includes a body part 5a that is slidably engaged with an edge part of the vane 4, and an arc-like part 5b integrated with the body part. A sliding surface 5g at an edge part of the body part 5a is continuous with a sliding surface 5c at an edge part of the arc-like part 5b on the same plane, and the two sliding surfaces 5c and 5g at the edge parts slidably contact a sliding wall surface of a pump chamber 11 to partition the spaces before and after the vane. The cut concave part 5h at the time when a gate part 5f for manufacturing the cap is removed, which is more concave than the sliding surface 5g at the edge part, is formed on the sliding surface at the one edge part of the body part.
