To obtain a highly accurate compact capacitance type load detector which can be assembled easily.

The capacitance type load detector has electrodes 16a, 16b arranged at the fixed part 24 of a strain generator 15, and electrodes 17a, 17b arranged at the movable part 22 of the strain generator 15 receiving a load. Variation of area at the facing parts of the fixed side electrodes 16a, 16b and the movable side electrodes 17a, 17b is detected as variation of frequency signals (load detection signals) fa, fb. The movable side and fixed side electrodes 17, 16 are provided, respectively, with six parts extending arranged while being spaced apart from each other in the displacing direction of the movable part 22 and extending substantially orthogonally to the displacing direction.
