To provide a capacitor capable of further reducing the floating inductance of bus bars and a power conversion device using the capacitor.
A capacitor 1 includes a capacitor element 2, a case 4, a pair of bus bars 3 (3a and 3b), and a sealing member 5. The capacitor element 2 is housed in the case 4. The pair of bus bars 3 are electrically connected to the capacitor element 2. A bus-bar opposite portion 6 is formed in the capacitor 1. The bus-bar opposite portion 6 is formed by oppositely disposing an inner extension portion 31 that is formed in the bus bar 3 and extends along a side wall 40 in the case 4 and an outer extension portion 32 that is formed in the bus bar 3 and extends along the side wall 40 outside the case 4 with the side wall 40 interposed therebetween. The directions of currents I each flowing through the inner extension portion 31 and the outer extension portion 32 are opposite to each other.
