Abstract:
According to the invention the projecting ends of the foils (2, 3) are of a wound capacitor is coated with a metal layer (5, 6). Next, the end of a lead (7) is pressed onto the metal layer (5, 6) at each end of the capacitor, whilst heating the lead and/or the metal layer (5, 6). The said end has two substantially contiguous portions (8, 9) which are pressed against the outside of the metal layer and are interconnected by a connecting portion (10-12) which is offset from the plane of symmetry of the contiguous portions and is pressed into the metal layer (5, 6).
