Abstract:
A gear pump, or motor, has at least two pairs of gears 18, 26 and flow-control means eg. a 3-position valve 34, lodged in a housing part such as an intermediate plate 13. According to its position the valve either connects the gears in series or parallel or short-circuits the gears 26, and thereby regulates the total output. Alternative valving is described with reference to Figs. 2 to 5.
