PURPOSE: To obtain the quantitative type capacity displacement measurement device which can be used in air and oil compensate the zero point drift due to the change of temperature and humidity by providing measurement electrode and the reference electrode on the insulating material disposed so as to satisfy the predetermined conditions.

CONSTITUTION: On an end of the insulating member 21, disk like measurement electrode 22 and the ring like reference electrode 23 are mounted. The measurement electrode 22 and the surface to be measured 26 form an electrical capacity CV, and the reference electrode 23 and the surface to be measured form CR. The area of the measuring electrode 22 is set at A1, the distance t1 between the surface to be measured 26 and the said area, and the relation between the area A2 of the reference electrode 23 and the distance t2 between the surface 26 to be measured and the area A2 are set under the condition of A2.t1=A1.t2. In this manner, CR= CV can be obtained and the balancing of capacity can be got both in the air and in the oil. When the inductance due to the temperature and the humidity is changed, CR=CV is obtained under the above conditions and the balance of the capacity is gained.
