To provide a capless holder which can certainly move a medium to a projection position and a storage position and does not use a detachable cap.

The capless holder is equipped with a barrel 12 which holds a refill 16 movable between a projection position and a storage position and also has a tip opening 12a for a pen point 16a of the refill 16 set in the projection position to jut through and a storage part 12b for sealing the pen point 16a of the refill 16 set in the storage position. In addition, the capless holder is equipped with a rotary barrel 18 connected with the barrel 12 in a relatively rotatable manner; an engaging protrusion 16b formed in one piece with the refill 16; a cam groove 18b which is formed in the rotary barrel 18 and guides the engaging protrusion 16b back and forth by the rotation of the rotary barrel 18; and a guide groove 12d which is formed in the barrel 12 and guides the engaging protrusion 16b in the rotating direction. The refill 16 is made to recede from the projection position and rotate by the collaboration among the cam groove 18b, the guide groove 12d and the engaging protrusion 16b and then. is made to advance to the storage position. Further, the refill 16 is made to recede from the storage position and rotate and then, is made to advance to the projection position.
