Abstract:
PURPOSE: To speedily draw a wire without reducing drawability by specifying the center line average height of outer circumference of a capstan cone in contact with a metallic wire.
CONSTITUTION: In the capstan cone 1 used for a slip-type wire drawing machine, the center line average height Ra of outer circumference 2 of the capstan cone in contact with the metallic wire is set to ≤0.5μm. Preferably, Ra is ≤0.2μm and coated with a hard chromium plating. Thus, the frictional resistance between the wire 5 and the capstan cone 1 is reduced and the wire 5 is fed from the capstan cone 1 without reducing tensile force of the wire in the capstan cone 1. The drawn wire is applied with stable tensile force and the working load from the surface of a die is reduced during drawing.
