To provide a capsule endoscope system which allows the appropriate observation of fluorescence having the same wavelength according to observation conditions requiring an observable image having a high S/N ratio and requiring the other reduced fluorescence components, respectively.
The capsule endoscope system includes an excitation light source 8 for irradiating an object to be imaged with excitation light, a spectroscope 12, and an imaging section 13 for imaging the object with the fluorescences separated by the spectroscope 12, wherein the spectroscope 12 can separate the fluorescence which have the same center wavelength and a plurality of band width having different pass band width among fluorescences emitted by the object irradiated with the exciting light from the excitation light source 8.
