Title:
CAR BODY STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3434382
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enlarge the volume of a compartment by mounting a sub-frame extended from the front end of a vehicle to an engine mounting part to a car body through a frame mount and providing a pushing part for movably pushing the engine rearward with the relative shift of the sub-frame to the car body toward the rear part of the sub-frame.
CONSTITUTION: An engine E is mounted on the rear part of a monocock structure body 1. A sub-frame 2 extending from the front end of a vehicle to the engine mounting part is mounted on a floor 1a of the body 1. The sub-frame 2 is formed with a rising part 2c with rearward inclined posture located between the base parts of left and right fork parts 2b to oppose to the front face of the engine E. In the front face collision, first, the colliding energy is inputted to the sub-frame 2 and a frame mount 6 is broken down to move the sub-frame 2 rearward of the body 1. The rising part 2c of the sub-frame 2 collides with the engine E to deform a shock absorbing member 5.
