Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce energy loss at the time of driving a car by means of a retarder used with a motor mechanism directly connected to an engine.

CONSTITUTION: When a retarder 2 attached to a flywheel 13 of an engine 1 is operated by a motor and wheels are driven its torque, an actuator 74 for a decompression valve of the stopped engine 1 is operated and the inside of a cylinder is opened, and any possible wasteful load due to compression is reduced.
