PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car position detector capable of detecting the position of a car for a door zone and a re-level zone with high precision, at low cost.SOLUTION: By detecting an identification conductor 120 using a sensor 130, a car position detector 101 detects the position of an elevator car. The Identification conductor includes a first domain 121 on which a plurality of holes are formed so as to have a first conductance and a second domain 122 having a second conductance different from the first conductance. The sensor includes a magnetic field generator 131A for generating magnetic field to the identification conductor, a magnetic field detector prepared in a pair with the magnetic field generator concerned, and signal processing units 133 to 137 which are electrically connected to the magnetic field detector concerned. The magnetic field detector detects the eddy current magnetic field generated from the identification conductor, while the signal processing units identify the positional relationship between the identification conductor and the sensor based the output (amplitude and/or phase) of the magnetic field detector.
