Title:
CAR SPEEDOMETER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP05133961
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To display maximum speed without degrading readabilitiy of speed part which is most used, without increasing a space for scale plate, by providing a driver circuit with an amplifying circuit which drives an analogue speedometer non-linearly.

CONSTITUTION: When the output of a norton amplifier 140 of a driver LC 120 is lower than a reference voltage WSW at a joint point 109 of resisters 108 and 110, calculation amplifiers 94 and 77 do not operate, and a function generator 13 is driven linearly by a line 138. When the output of the amplifier 140 is larger than the voltage WSW, or a car speed exceeds a display switching point of a speedometer, the amplifiers 90 and 77 operate to change a voltage at a pin 9, so that an output (line 138) of the amplifier 140 is affected through a non-inversion input 144, thus, a generator 134 sends a drive signal to coils 148 and 150 of an air-core gauge 149, for rotating the axis of speedometer at a desired deflection angle. Thus, above the display switching point, a speed is displayed non-linearly at a roll off rate according to an angle deflection per a speed increase.
