PURPOSE: To easily increase or decrease the car speed even during the constant- speed travel by providing a preset car speed updating unit setting the actual car speed to a car speed setting unit as the preset car speed by an acceleration or deceleration command.
CONSTITUTION: When the preset car speed is set at a car speed setting unit 12, the difference between the actual car speed and preset car speed is determined by an arithmetic unit 18, its output becomes the output of an arithmetic unit 19 to drive a throttle opening adjusting actuator 23 via arithmetic units 20, 22. When a switch 17 is turned to the acceleration side by an acceleration command during the constant-speed travel, a constant value generated by a constant generator 15 or 16 is added to the output of the arithmetic unit 18 which is the difference between the actual car speed and preset car speed, and the actual car speed itself is set at the car speed setting unit 12 as the preset car speed by an OR gate 14 and an AND gate 13 under the condition of an acceleration command, thus allowing acceleration. The proceeding is the same at a deceleration command.
