Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a rotor for a positive displacement motor having excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance coating or for a motor.

CONSTITUTION: A rotor 2 with coating 3 which is engaged with a stator 4 has coating selected among metallic carbide and metallic or alloy binding agent, metallic boride and metallic or alloy binding agent, mixed metallic carbide and metallic boride and metallic or alloy binding agent. Coating contains carbide and or boride of at least 65 wt.% and has hardness of at least 900 HV. 3. Coating examples are (W, Cr) C-Co or Co alloy and (W, Cr) C-Ni or Ni alloy and it is desirable that a particle size of metallic carbide and metal or alloy is less than 75 microns.
