Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard metal tool having excellent tool life.SOLUTION: A hard metal tool 1 has a sintered body 2. The sintered body 2 contains a cemented carbide component and a nitride production component. The cemented carbide component consisting 2 or more kinds selected from a group consisting of WC, Co, TiC and TaC and contains at least WC and Co. The nitride production component consists of 2 or more kinds selected from a first group and a second group and contains at least one kind selected from the first group and one kind selected from the second group. The total content of the nitride production component is 2.0 to 5.0 mass% based on 100 mass% of the cemented carbide component. The sintered body 2 has a nitride layer 3 containing nitride of the above described nitride production component on a surface layer. The nitride layer 3 has a process hardened layer 4 containing nitride of the above described nitride production component on a surface layer. The first group:Al, V and Si.
