Abstract:

To provide a carbon fiber composite metallic material which contains carbon nanofibers and is excellent in fatigue durability, and to provide a method for producing the carbon fiber composite metallic material.

In the carbon fiber composite metallic material 6, carbon fibers 40 with the average diameter of 0.5 to 50 nm are uniformly dispersed into a matrix 60 of a metallic material. In the carbon nanofibers 40, the content of impurities other than carbon based substance is 0 to 2 wt.%.
