Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a carbon fibril material having excellent mechanical properties.
SOLUTION: This is a carbon fibril material composed of many carbon fibrils 10 having a form of fine vermicular tube free from continuous heat- carbon-coat and having plural graphite layers 12, 13. The length of the graphite layer 12, 13 along the axis 16 of the fibril is two times or more the fibril diameter and the wall thickness of the fibril is about 0.1-0.4 time the outer diameter 20 of the fibril. The fibril has function as an absorbent.
