Abstract:

To obtain a carbon material having ≤0.1 pore volume by carbonizing or curing/carbonizing a phenol resin.

This method for producing a carbon material is characterized by carrying out the curing condition of a thermosetting resin such as a phenol- based resin, etc., in stages so that the pore volume and the specific surface area of the carbon material can be controlled. The specific surface area and the pore volume can be controlled by the amount of a basic component and an acidic component to a resin to become a precursor and the kind of additive.
