Abstract:
To provide a technique for affording a carbon nano-fiber and/or a carbon nano-tube having ≤100 nm diameter in high yield.
A method for producing the carbon nano-fiber or the carbon nano-tube comprises a step of forming a precursor fiber composed of a matrix phase of a thermally degradable polymer and an island-like independent phase of a thermally carbonizable polymer and a baking step of baking the precursor fiber. A splitting treatment is carried out before or in the course of the baking step.
