PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compound useful for oxytocic inhibition, pain relief, suppression of peristaltic movement of digestive tube, sleep, etc., as prostaglandin E2 antagonist and agonist, comprising a sulfonamide compound having a bicycloalkane structure.
CONSTITUTION: 7-[(1S,2S,3S,5R)-3-Amino-6,6-dimethylbicyclo[3,1,1] heptan-2-yl]-5Z- heptenoic acid methyl ester, etc., is dissolved in pyridine, cooled in an ice bath, a solution of 4-bromobenzenesulfonyl chloride in methylene chloride is dripped to the solution and reacted at a room temperature for 16 hours. The reaction mixture is poured into 4N hydrochloric acid, extracted with ethyl acetate, the extracted solution is concentrated under reduced pressure and purified by silica gel chromatography to give a carbon ring sulfonamide compound of the formula I [R1 is ester or amide; group of formula II is group of formula III (group of formula TV is group of formula V), etc.; Ba is cis-CH=CH-(CH2)m ((m) is 1-6), etc.; R2a is single bond or 1-4C alkylene; R3a is (substituted) benzene ring, naphthalene ring, etc.].
