Title:
CARBON TUBE FOR FLAMELESS ATOMIZER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS54162596
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a carbon tube for flameless atomizer for atomic absorption analysis capable of performing measurement of superior sensitivity, accuracy, reproducibility by covering the surface with a heat-resisting metal or compound.

CONSTITUTION: A covering layer 2 of about 10 to 300μ thick composed of a heat- resisting metal or compound is formed through plating or vapor deposition on the surface (a part or whole) of a graphite-made carbon tube 1 which is provided with a sample injection hole 3 and added with a carbon electrode 5, whereby the carbon tube for flameless atomizer is provided. The application of the abovementioned covering results in that there are virtually no measuring objects which will cause decreased sensitivity and that in the analysis of the elements forming stable carbides an increase in sensitivity by about 5 to 10 times is rather admitted. Further good results with respect to reproducibility may be obtained.
