Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical-type carbonization apparatus enabling continuous operation.
SOLUTION: Refractory blocks 11 are placed on a fire grate 9 and agitated with an agitation blade 14. The blocks 11 are heated by the flame of a burner 24. Wood scraps charged into the apparatus is heated and agitated by the blocks and carbonized owing to the lack of air supply. The carbonized scraps are dropped from the grate to a recovery chamber 16, gathered by a gathering blade 23 and discharged from the product outlet port 16a by a discharging conveyor 26. The discharging conveyor 26 is used also as a material sealing member.
