To provide a carbonization system capable of making efficient use of an exhaust gas as a heat source for drying water-containing organic wastes without connecting a large-scale exhaust gas treatment apparatus to a carbonizing furnace.

The carbonization system is provided with a drying furnace 1 in which a drying treatment by heating is carried out on the water-containing organic wastes and the carbonizing furnace 5 that carbonizes a dried product discharged from the drying furnace 1. A combustion chamber 13 is established above the carbonizing furnace 5, and the exhaust gas exhausted from the carbonizing furnace is introduced into the combustion chamber. The drying furnace 1 is established above the combustion chamber 13. A bottom part of a furnace wall of the drying furnace 1 is heated by a heat of combustion generated inside the combustion chamber 13.
