Abstract:
To provide a carboxyalkyl cellulose polymer network having super-absorbing properties.
This carboxyalkyl cellulose polymer network is a water-swellable and water-insoluble cross-linked carboxyalkyl cellulose and is obtained from a pulp having a kappa value of about 1 to about 65. Further, a composition which can be obtained by reacting a carboxyalkyl cellulose obtained from a pulp having a kappa value of about 1 to about 65, with a cross-linking agent in an amount sufficient to water-insolubilize the above-noted carboxyalkyl cellulose.
