PURPOSE: To obtain a carboxylated fluorobcopolymer which gives a uniform coating film excellent in weatherability by copolymerizing a fluoroolefin, a vinyl ester, a hydroxylated vinyl ether, a vinyl ether which does not contain a hydroxyl group, and a specified unsaturated carboxylic acid.

CONSTITUTION: This copolymer is obtained by copolymerizing a fluoroolefin, a vinyl ester, a hydroxylated vinyl ether, a vinyl ether which does not contain a hydroxyl group, and an unsaturated carboxylic acid which has neither an ester structure nor a vinyl ether structure, preferably at a molar ratio of 100:(25 to 70):(6 to 100):(1 to 60):(3 to 100).
