Title:
CARBOXYMETHYL CELLULOSE SALTS AND BINDING AGENT FOR DISINTEGRABLE PAPER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3929588
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable preparing a solution with low viscosity in a high concentration without depositing insoluble matters even when coming into contact with a divalent metal salt compound in the presence of water by specifying turbidity, viscosity and the number of unsubstituted glucose units.
SOLUTION: A carboxymethyl cellulose salt satisfies one or more of the following conditions: (i) a turbidity of an aqueous solution of the carboxymethyl cellulose salt and a divalent metal salt compound calculated by the formula: turbidity (%)=(scattered light intensity/total transmitted light intensity)×100, as measured by an integrating-sphere turbidimeter with a halogen lamp as a light source being 20% or lower, preferably 10% or lower, (ii) a viscosity ratio at 25°C of a 5 wt.% aqueous solution to a 1 wt.% aqueous solution of the carboxymethyl cellulose salt being 80-160, preferably 80-130 and (iii) the number of unsubstituted glucose units per 1,000 anhydrous glucose units in the molecule of the carboxymethyl cellulose salt being 65 or lower, preferably 40 or lower and especially preferably 30 or lower.
