To successfully maintain an engine operation state to an idling operation by obtaining a sufficient and stable fuel amount in a fuel supply system for starting in the engine starting even when a carburetor for a by-starter gasoline engine is mounted on an engine with a comparatively large displacement.
The carburetor 1A for the by-starter gasoline engine is provided with a well 6A in which an emulsion tube 7 is inserted and an air bleed passage 8 is connected, and an automatic switching mechanism 9 for automatically controlling the switching of the fuel supply passage for starting, and comprised of the fuel supply system for starting to connect a float chamber 5A and a suction passage, aside from a main fuel supply system. In this case, a fuel storage chamber 61 is formed protrusively or consecutively at the height position below the oil level of the well 6A to store fuel for supplementary supply so as to increase the fuel holding capacity of the well 6A.
