PURPOSE: To provide carcinostatics having no adverse effect, low toxicity and excellent carcinostatic activity, by containing docosahexaenoyl monoglyceride.
CONSTITUTION: The objective drug is obtained by mixing docosahexaenoyl monoglyceride as an effective component with the conventional surfactant, excipient, lubricant, adjuvant, etc., and preparing the mixture by the conventional method. The carcinostatics can be prepared in the form of capsules, tablets, granules, powders, injections, drops, suppositories, etc. The dose of the drug is 0.01W100mg/kg body weight per day for adults in the case of oral administration, while the upper limit of the dose is 10mg/kg in the case of parenteral administration. The docosahexaenoyl monoglyceride is obtained by converting docosahexaenoic acid as a starting substance into the acid anhydride thereof, reacting the acid anhydride with glycerophosphoryl choline, separating the reaction product and subsequently purifying the product.
