To eliminate the malfunction of optical recognition means in a card activation type switch box having means for optically recognizing a card to perform on/off control of an electric load using the card, by eliminating invasion of dust inside an internal housing from a card insertion inlet when the card is not inserted, and by preventing the incidence of external light into the internal housing when the card is inserted.
A switch box includes a formed insertion cylinder that extends downward from the periphery of the card insertion inlet provided on the upper surface of the housing to the internal housing, and a shutter disposed at the lower end of the insertion cylinder. The shutter is configured to stop a gap between the insertion cylinder and the card when the card is inserted, and stop the lower end opening of the insertion cylinder when the card is not inserted.
