Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a card from being stuck in a card reader.
SOLUTION: This card carrier mechanism of the card reader is furnished with a movable holding member to hold an interlocking pad roller 6 of an opposed carrier roller 3 and to approach and part to and from a driving rubber roller 5 of the interlocking pad roller 6, an energizing means 8 to energize the holding member 7 so that the interlocking pad roller 6 is welded with pressure on the interlocking rubber roller 5 in a state of holding the card 2 and a detection means 9 to detect a position of the holding member 7, and it is devised to detect a state where the interlocking pad roller 6 is separated by more than thickness of the card from the driving rubber roller 5. In this case, it is favorable to furnish a detection lever 10 to amplify a positional change of the holding member 7 and to detect the positional change through movement of the detection lever 10.
