To provide a card connector hardly allowing accumulation of dust and refuse between a first contact part and a second contact part and hardly causing contact failure.

The card connector is provided with a switch 21 for detecting insertion of the a card C. The switch 21 is provided with a switch member 22 capable of moving between a first position and a second position, the first contact part 23 provided with springiness, the second contact part 24, and a cover 25 covering the switch member 22 and the first and second contact parts 23 and 24. An opening 25a from which a part of the switch member 22 positioned in the first position protrudes is formed on the cover 25. The switch member 22 is moved from the first position to the second position by abutting of the card C on a protruding portion of the switch member 22 protruding from the opening 25a. The first contact part 23 is arranged between the first position and the second position. The first contact part 22 is displaced by abutting of the switch member 22 on the first contact part 23 in a process of reaching the second position, and it is brought into contact with the second contact part 23.
