The card connector 10 comprises a card receiving cavity 14, a plurality of terminals 40 having a contact member facing in the card receiving cavity 14, and a card ejecting mechanism 50 for the card 12 received in the card receiving cavity 14. The card receiving cavity 14 is formed and demarcated by a metal shell 20 which has a nearly square top plate 21 opposed to one face of the card 12 and box-bending parts 22, 23 which are formed continuously on both opposed side edges of this top plate 21. The card ejecting mechanism 50 is installed in the inside space of one of the box-bending part 23 of the metal shell 20, and its ejecting action is guided only by the box-bending part 23.
