To obtain a card connector in which, even if the card is inserted into the card connector with its recessed part in front, the contact part of a contact can be prevented from entering into the recessed part.
The card connector is provided with a base plate 5 which exposes capable of appearance on one side a contact part 4b provided at an elastic deformation part 4a of a plurality of contacts 4 to be contacted to the card 2 and insulating supports each base part 4c of each contact 4 and a cover member 7 which is supported at both edges of the base plate 5 and forms a card insertion passage 6. A window 8 is installed at a position corresponding to each elastic deformation part 4a of each contact 4 on the base plate 5. An auxiliary piece 4e which exists separated from the contact part 4b along the side part of each contact part 4b is installed respectively branched at each elastic deformation part 4a. The free end of each auxiliary piece 4e is installed protruded to the front of the free end of each contact part 4b. The top end of the free end of each auxiliary piece 4e enters in the window 8 in inclined angle while each elastic deformation part 4a is in free state.
