PURPOSE: To print clearly on respective printing faces of magnetic cards of different kind by reading a print energy information recorded preliminarily on a magnetic printing face of a magnetic card through a read and write section and controlling a thermal printing unit by means of a control section.

CONSTITUTION: A reflective layer 32, a record display layer 33 and a printing layer 34 are laminated successively on one face of a base 31 on a magnetic card 30, and a magnetic layer 35 and a protective layer 36 are laminated successively on the other face. The record display layer 33 side is set on the printing face, while the magnetic layer 35 side is set on a magnetic recording face respectively. In that case, read and write of a magnetic data is performed on the magnetic recording face by a magnetic read and write section 1. Also printing is carried out on the printing face by a thermal printing unit 1. The printed display is erased by an erase unit 2. An printing energy information recorded preliminarily on the magnetic printing face is read by a control section 3 through the read and write section 1 to control the thermal printing unit 1.
