The card lock has the lock operation permitting card 1, which is provided with an appropriate number of discriminating recesses 1a, and a card inserting slot 3 equipped with an appropriate number of lock-side cord forming bodies 2 fitted into the discriminating recesses 1a. In the card lock, a lock operation is permitted when positions of the forming bodies 2 correspond to those of the discriminating recesses 1a. The forming body 2 is press-fitted detachably into an insertion hole 4 selected from a plurality of insertion holes 4 preformed in a wall surface of the slot 3.
