To provide a card maintenance method by a card reservation processing allowing an appropriate process for an IC card at appropriate timing.
Monitor means 3 for monitoring a state of the IC card and display means 4 for displaying the monitored result are equipped with the IC card. Means 13 for reading out the monitored result displayed on the IC card, means 14, 15 for determining a process to be executed from the read out monitored result, and means 16 for executing the determined processing are equipped with a terminal or server side. By constituting in such a manner, since the IC card itself monitors its state, it is prevented that the IC card is normally monitored at the terminal or server side. Also, the IC card additionally determines the process to be executed on the basis of the monitored result and displays the determined process as the reservation processing, thereby a process demand from the IC card can be appropriately executed.
