Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out electronic settlement suitable for a kind of data to be stored in a card.
SOLUTION: By a card processing apparatus 1 having a casing 15 provided with openings 16, 17 on the front and rear surfaces, the card inserted into a card passage 18 provided inside the casing 15 is fed to the direction according to a kind of card settlement the carrying out of which is declared. In one embodiment, in the case of credit settlement, the card is fed from the opening 16 on the front surface side to a data processing part and fed to the opening 17 on the rear surface side after data processing by the data processing part. In another embodiment, in the case of debit card settlement or electronic money settlement, the card is fed from the opening 16 on the front surface side to the data processing part and fed to the opening 16 on the front surface side after the data processing by the data processing part.
