To provide a card processing device that prevents processing target data recorded in a storage unit inside a card processing device from being improperly accessed and read out while a card is inserted.SOLUTION: In a card processing device: data recorded in a storage unit of an inserted card is read and recorded in a storage unit inside the card processing device; reading processing is performed on the storage unit of the card after completion of transporting the card to the inside of the card processing device; the recorded processing target data before ejection of the card is deleted; meanwhile operation of forcible ejection of the inserted card is detected, and the card is forcibly ejected; and at this time, if the operation of forcible ejection is detected, the processing target data recorded in the storage unit inside the card processing device is deleted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
