Abstract:
To provide a card reader for reducing the possibility of capturing an illegal card.
This card reader device has a card inlet for receiving a card, a card enclosure positioned on the same plane as the card inlet and forming an area for reading the card, a card carrying mechanism for pulling the card in the card enclosure along a passage and discharging the card from the card enclosure, a sensor for detecting displacement of a part of the card carrying mechanism in the direction for crossing the passage of the card, and a control circuit for confirming whether or not the displacement of the card carrying mechanism satisfies an alarm reference.
