Abstract:
To provide a card reader and a transaction apparatus capable of appropriately performing insertion of a card or the like and manually performing withdrawal of the card.SOLUTION: A card reader 1 is provided with a front cover 10 including a front wall 11 where an insertion port 30 of a card C is opened, and a transfer path 31 that extends from the insertion port 30 toward a depth side. The card reader 1 is provided with a transfer mechanism that transfer the card C along the transfer path 31 on an inner side of the front cover 10, and a magnetic head that performs reading information from the card C. On the front cover 10, a recess portion 15 is provided so as to be recessed from the front wall 11 toward the depth side. Both surfaces of a rear end portion C5 of the card C transferred along the transfer path 31 to the depth side are exposed on the inner side of the recess portion 15. Between a side wall 151 of the recess portion 15 and the front wall 11, an inclined wall 17 to widen a frontage of the recess portion 15 is provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
