Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that card information is stolen and a card itself is obtained by fraud, by fitting a foreign body to the front of an inlet of a card reader.
SOLUTION: An ultrasonic sensor 2 is fitted to the card reader 1. The detection range 24 of the ultrasonic sensor 2 includes the front of the inlet 27. In a standby state before a card 20 is inserted into a card slot 21, the ultrasonic sensor detects whether the foreign body is present. When card processing ends and the card 20 is ejected, the ultrasonic sensor 2 detects whether the card 20 is present or whether the foreign body is present. When the ultrasonic sensor 2 is unable to detect the card 20 although the card is ejected, information indicating that the foreign body is fitted can be outputted.
