Abstract:
To provide a highly durable card reader.SOLUTION: A card reader 51 includes: a card lock mechanism 57 preventing a card from being removed from a card slot 3; and a knob 71 for manually unlocking the card lock mechanism 57. The card lock mechanism 57 includes a motor 14, and a lock member 15 which is provided with blocking pawls 85a, 85b and configured to move between a contact position where the blocking pawls 85a, 85b contact the card 2 and a retreated position where the blocking pawls 85a, 85b are retreated from a card conveyance path, due to power transmitted from the motor 14. The knob 71 includes a cylindrical rotation member 712 having an inner circumference wall 71a surrounding an output shaft 14a of the motor 14, and engaging members 71A, 71B provided on the inner circumference wall 71a, extending along a circumferential direction of the output shaft 14a and engageable with an outer peripheral face of the output shaft 14a.
