Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the card type liquid crystal recording medium which prevents liquid crystal from oozing out and an electrode from cracking, flawing, and deforming, etc.
CONSTITUTION: Plural beltlike transparent electrodes 14 for area selection are formed on a transparent substrate and a photoconductive layer and an information recording layer having liquid crystal phases dispersed and fixed in a resin material are laminated in order; and the respective layers on the transparent substrate in an area with specific width along the side opposite the area selection electrodes are removed and then a transparent common electrode 19 is formed over the entire surface. Further, the respective layers on the area selection electrodes 14 in an area 20 with specific width along the side where the area selection electrodes 14 are formed are removed to expose the transparent common electrode 19 and area selection electrodes 14 on the same plane of the transparent substrate. The electrodes can be led out from on the transparent substrate, so the transparent electrode 19 on the information recording layer is prevented from flawing or deforming, and this recording medium is sufficiently usable as a card.
