To provide a cargo handling safety device which is applicable to a cargo vehicle such as a skid steer loader, and prevent a cargo device from being erroneously activated when the operator rides on/off the vehicle, wherein the cargo handling safety device can be easily set, and is drastically improved in safety.

The cargo handling safety device is formed of a seat 2, a safety bar 3, the cargo device 4, an actuator 5, a control valve 6, a cargo pedal 7, a seat detector 8, a safety bar detector 9, and a bypass solenoid valve 10. The cargo handling safety device is particularly formed of: the seat detector 8 for detecting that the operator A is seated on the seat 2; the safety bar detector 9 for detecting that the safety bar 3 is set at a bound position; and the bypass solenoid valve 10 which is controlled by the seat detector 8 and the safety bar detector 9, and allows hydraulic fluid from a pump 19 to be fed to the control valve 6 when the operator A is seated on the seat 2 and the safety bar 3 is set at the bound position, but interrupts flowage of the hydraulic fluid from the pump 19 to the control valve 6 in the other times.
