Abstract:

To fit a cargo ship with a strong PMA (Permanent Means of Access) to allow an inspector to approach a structural member in a tank in the ship side part without increasing the weight of the ship significantly.

The cargo ship equipped with a bilge hopper tank 4 in the ship side part is structured so that a side stringer 13 is installed in the bilge hopper tank 4, wherein the width of the side stringer 13 is made 450 mm or more larger than the width of a crossing trans-web 12. A handrail 16 is installed upright on the inner board side of the side stringer 13.
