To provide a cargo transfer device in a suspension conveying device capable of simplifying a structure of a carrier mounted on a trolley and reducing its weight and transferring a cargo safely and securely.

The carrier 5 is suspended from the trolley 3 suspended from a running rail 1 to run along the running rail 1 by a driving means 6, and a hook 20 in which a hook-shaped engaging part 20a in a lower end part is engaged with a locking part of the cargo to suspend the cargo is pivoted on the carrier 5 so as to turn to a locking position facing substantially downward and a release position for leaving the locking part of the cargo. An inclined fringe 27 is provided at a lower end of the hook 20. An elevating means 14 for raising and lowering the carrier 5 and a release means 30 for turning the hook 20 to the release position are provided at a cargo transfer position.
