PURPOSE: To obtain a carpet of controlling a jumping amount of golf ball in a golf ball hitting practice place and simplifying recovery of golf balls by specifically transplanting a great number of loop piles in rows on ground fabric having a web layer on the surface and connecting the loop piles in chains.

CONSTITUTION: For example, fibers having 3-80 denier single fiber fineness are interlaced on ground fabric 2, needles 7 are stuck from above into the ground fabric and web is partially fixed to the ground fabric to give a web layer 4. The needles 7 holding pile yarn are thrust from the back of the ground fabric 2 to the surface of the web layer 4, vertically moved in linking with forward and backward movement of a louver 6 to form the pile yarn 1 into loops, the needles 7 are inserted into the loops, a great number of loop piles 3 are repeatedly formed in rows to give the objective carpet. The back of the carpet is preferably provided with a resin layer.
