To provide a carriage carrying device dispensing with a carrying line of an empty carriage up to an unloading side transfer device from a loading side transfer device, by dispensing with a transfer device for loading and unloading a carrying object between a carriage used in a work process of performing work to the carrying object when a worker gets on the carriage and a carriage used in the other process.

This carriage carrying device includes a non-self-traveling type carrying carriage 1 movable along a rail R forming the carrying line L and supporting the carrying object W, a non-self-traveling type worker carriage 2 having a pallet 21 for allowing the worker to get on and separated from the carriage 1 for the carrying object, a carriage driving means 3 for driving the carriage, a uniting means 4 for uniting the carriage 1 for the carrying object and the carriage 2 for the worker upstream of a work process P1, a separating means 5 for separating the carriage 1 for the carrying object and the carriage 2 for the worker downstream of a work process P2 and a sending-back means 6 for sending back the carriage 2 for the worker separated by the separating means 5 upstream of the work process P1.
